Uthana is a generative AI platform for 3D character animation. By removing the tedium from generating realistic motion (e.g retargeting, stylized locomotion, looping and blending, making files work across tools), we enable content creators to animate characters in minutes, not days or weeks. Our mission is to beat a visual Turing test for human motion and bring a new level of creativity and authenticity to synthetic movement. Ultimately, we’re aiming to transform game play by powering real-time, novel motion in response to narration, environment, and character intent.

The platform targets animation, games, film, robotics, and simulations with tools to integrate into existing pipelines.
Users can generate motion for any character from text prompts or upload 2D videos to create 3D motion files. The system supports real-time animation, auto-rigging, flexible retargeting, and seamless integration via a simple GraphQL API and SDKs. It offers a library of over 100,000 studio-quality motions, multi-modal inputs (text, video, poses, constraints), and skeleton-aware IK retargeting that works with any rig. Plugins for Blender and Maya (coming soon) and compatibility with Unity, Unreal, Roblox, and various formats (FBX, GLB, BVH) enable production-use across engines. Enterprise features include dedicated support, data siloing, and custom training.

Viren is a co-founder and CEO of Uthana, a startup that builds generative AI for motion, creating realistic and interactive content for gaming and entertainment. He has over 15 years of experience in strategy, management, product, and operations, spanning various industries and domains. He is also the co-founder and CEO of Hedado, a philanthropic platform that modernizes corporate giving and empowers individuals and SMBs to donate to causes they care about. Previously, he was a vice president at AppNexus (acquired by AT&T and becoming Xandr), where he led product and operations teams. He started his career as a consultant and analyst at Cornerstone Research, and in parallel co-owned and operated a Quiznos Sub franchise. He holds a JD-MBA from Northwestern University and a BS in Business Administration from USC.
