AI calling & browser agents for healthcare
Shasta Health builds AI agents to handle patient calls, verify insurance and automate admin tasks for healthcare clinics
Shasta Health provides AI-powered workflow automation for clinics, handling calls, faxes, referrals, and admin tasks while integrating with existing EMR systems without complex setup. It aims to streamline pre-visit workflows and improve patient access and billing accuracy. The product is marketed as deployable in days with HIPAA compliance and ongoing improvements.
The platform uses AI agents to automate patient interactions and back-office tasks: answering and routing patient calls with EMR integration, processing referrals received by fax and entering details into the EMR, and performing real-time insurance verifications by navigating payer portals and contacting insurance companies. It supports appointment scheduling with intelligent availability matching, multilingual support, and general support. The system parses incoming faxes to extract demographics, diagnoses, insurance, and provider notes, then creates or updates EMR records, and calls patients to collect missing information and schedule appointments. It operates without APIs or complex integrations, learning the clinicβs workflows and gradually improving through guardrails and dashboards.
Who itβs for: Clinics and practices (e.g., physical therapy, multi-provider clinics) seeking AI-assisted administration and improved patient access.
