The extensible IDE for coding agents
Zenbu is an extensible IDE for orchestrating coding agents. Shape it around exactly how you and your team work.
Zenbu is a hackable, extensible IDE-like interface designed for the Pi coding agent. It emphasizes customization, extensibility, and parallel development workflows to build and manage coding agents and plugins in real time.
Zenbu provides a hackable interface built on Zenbu.js that runs on macOS and targets the Pi coding agent. It supports: adding new functionality, customizing the interface, and building plugins in real time using the built-in agent. It is Pi-native with native support for Pi commands and integration with Pi extensions, plus multi-provider support. It enables parallel development through worktrees, running multiple agents side-by-side, built-in PR creation, and instant context switching.
Who itβs for: Developers and engineering teams working with Pi coding agents who need a customizable, extensible interface to build, test, and manage plugins and agents in parallel.
beta (currently in Beta); downloadable for macOS; active community channels (Discord) and documentation available
I build developer tools. I was a software engineer at Vercel on the Next.js core team, and co-authored React Scan, an open source tool now at 22k GitHub stars and 800k weekly installs. Now I'm building Zenbu, an extensible IDE for coding agents.
