I immigrated from Kenya to Philadelphia at 13 when my family won the lottery. My father cashed out his pension to buy tickets, and we moved into a small apartment in inner-city Philadelphia. I eventually dropped out of Penn State with the Thiel Fellowship to start Vitable Health after seeing hourly workers in my parents’ business struggle to afford insurance.
