Robots that automate the everyday tasks of microbiologists.
Reshape Biotech builds lab robots that automate the everyday tasks of microbiologists, from filling plates to analyzing images. Other companies try to sell “one lab robot that does everything”. But those robots become so complicated that they sit unused on the shelf. We build one robot for each function, which makes them easy to use.
Reshape Biotech provides an AI operating system for microbiology labs that automates data capture, structures results, and surfaces insights to accelerate experiments and QC workflows. Its product suite includes workflows, standardized QC testing, and hardware for high-throughput imaging and incubation, targeting labs from startups to industry giants.
The platform combines AI-driven workflows with hardware (Smart Incubator, Timelapse imaging, High-throughput Imaging Device) to automate data capture, track samples, and analyze images. Features include experiment-driven discovery (define intent, automatic data capture, AI-based analysis, data insights, and shareable reports), standardized QC testing (sample tracking, automated screening, sorting, and audit-ready data), and a cloud-based Discovery platform for data management. The system emphasizes throughput, automated documentation, traceability, and AI to predict results and narrow R&D funnels, with capabilities to scale from small labs to enterprise global operations.
Who it’s for: Labs and organizations performing microbiology R&D and QC, including startups, mid-market labs, and large enterprises across agriculture, food & beverage, industrials, and personal care sectors.
Hiring/traction noted via product updates, customer stories, and demos; active product suite with enterprise-scale capabilities; references to global lab deployments and partnerships indicate growth and market validation.
Mechanical engineer, physicist and now CEO of Reshape Biotech
I'm extremely interested in robotics and automation, and in particular how they can accelerate R&D in the life sciences. I pursue these interests working at Reshape Biotech, which is a company founded with the goal of greatly improving the accessibility of laboratory automation solutions.
I work primarily with development and project management. I am testing our products, ensuring quality, talking to customers, and making sure customer requirements and feature requests are considered during product development. I am also responsible for financial planning and accounting.
