Build interactive applications that run anywhere

Winter 2024Founded 20242 peopleNew York, NY, USA

About

renderlet is a framework that makes it easy to develop interactive applications. Building applications with high-performance graphics is very hard – existing tools are cumbersome and aren’t truly platform agnostic, leading to frequent rework. With renderlet, developers can write high-level code to describe 2D and 3D graphics without having to use low-level, platform-specific APIs. renderlet automatically compiles graphics code to WebAssembly and embeds a portable rendering engine inside any app, enabling graphics to safely and automatically render on any platform’s GPU. Our runtime is open-source: https://github.com/renderlet/wander

Renderlet offers intelligent procedural design tools for real-time 3D visualizations, enabling automatic generation of interactive 3D models for applications like games, digital twins, and product visualization. It focuses on transforming data into composable, editable 3D building blocks and provides a studio-ready runtime for deploying procedural pipelines.

Renderlet provides a workflow to transform intricate 3D designs into composable building blocks that can be combined with data to create shapes, surfaces, and animated effects. It emphasizes accelerated procedural design with a user-friendly interface, enabling rapid prototyping and production-ready content. The platform supports runtime generation of complex procedural pipelines that can be deployed directly into games or apps, maintaining editable semantic structure of generated content through AI that preserves creative control.

Who it’s for: Developers and artists building real-time 3D visualizations for games, smart cities, digital twins, product visualization, and related interactive 3D applications.

Write graphics code that automatically runs anywhere

Renderlet provides a WebAssembly framework to write graphics pipelines using high-level abstractions and generate portable rendering modules that run anywhere. It targets cross-platform apps with GPU-accelerated 2D/3D graphics and includes a compiler, a runtime renderer, and a visual editor; Wander is the open-source rendering engine, with a live demo announced at Wasm I/O.
