Pixelapse is the best place to share designs and work together. We build tools to improve the design process and make collaboration easier. Pixelapse simplifies version control and makes it accessible for designers to share and discuss their work with their friends, colleagues and the world.
Pixelapse aimed to be a collaborative platform for designers, providing structured version control and feedback features to organize, iterate, and collect input on design work. It evolved from a standalone product into a Dropbox-backed initiative before being sunset as a standalone product.
A platform designed for designers to organize design assets with structured version history (including moves, renames, and edits), annotate images and documents with comments, and support for Adobe Creative Suite file types (.psd, .ai, .eps). The workflow mirrored developer-style version control concepts to improve collaboration between design and development teams, with a timeline of revisions and a centralized repository of design work.
Who it’s for: Design teams and individual designers seeking structured collaboration, version history, and review/annotation capabilities for design assets within a shared workspace.
Acquired by Dropbox; sunsetting as a standalone product; long-standing open design movement; growth and milestones documented in timeline
