About

Mach9 accelerates how teams model and understand the world with automated feature extraction technology. Founded in 2021 and headquartered in San Francisco, Mach9's flagship Digital Surveyor platform helps transportation agencies, utility companies, and engineering firms extract miles of road corridor projects in a fraction of traditional processing time. Built on decades of research from Carnegie Mellon University's Robotics Institute, Mach9 empowers the architecture, engineering, and construction industries to tackle large-scale infrastructure projects with unprecedented speed and accuracy. Leading survey and geospatial organizations, including Langan, Olsson, Woolpert, HDR, and major state DOTs trust Digital Surveyor to create engineering-grade maps for infrastructure design and operations.

Mach9 offers AI-native CAD software for civil engineering focused on automated 3D mapping and feature extraction. Its Digital Surveyor workflow ingests data from major scanners and provides automated to manual feature extraction, CAD-ready deliverables, and interoperability with standard CAD/GIS formats.

Digital Surveyor ingests data in multiple formats from scanners by Riegl, Trimble, Leica, and NavVis. It uses AI-powered data analysis to extract line and point features (e.g., paint lines, curbs, utility poles) via state-of-the-art ML models. Users can choose extraction modes (automatic, automated-assisted, or manual); automated-assisted workflows provide on-the-fly suggestions to extract, validate, and adjust. The CAD platform includes automation-assisted extraction, manual tools, and design-grade deliverables; it exports extracted features to AutoCAD, MicroStation, or ESRI Feature Service to produce engineering-ready CAD and GIS deliverables. The product is built for mobile mapping and supports end-to-end workflows for rapid 3D mapping and feature extraction with both automated and manual control.

Who it’s for: Civil engineering and surveying teams requiring automated 3D mapping and feature extraction for roadways, utilities, and infrastructure projects; organizations delivering geospatial data and CAD/GIS deliverables.

We help infrastructure survey and engineering teams turn raw point cloud data into engineering-ready CAD/GIS deliverables up to 100x faster.

Mach9 launches Digital Surveyor 2, a web-based geospatial platform that converts LiDAR point clouds into engineering-ready CAD/GIS deliverables up to 100x faster by using an AI-powered extraction engine to identify features (curbs, edges, guardrails, barriers) and learn from user edits; it supports field-to-finish workflows and exports to AutoCAD, MicroStation, or ESRI for survey and engineering teams.
