The AI Coworker in Chrome
ThirdLayer is an applied research and product lab building the next interface for human–AI collaboration. Our first product is Dex, an AI copilot for the browser. Think Cursor for knowledge work, optimized for speed and embedded directly where you work. Most web agents are built for set-and-forget tasks. But real work is fluid and messy—spread across tabs, tools, and evolving decisions. Dex transforms your browser into an intelligent, multimodal workspace that understands your intent through voice, text, and action. It enhances familiar interfaces, automates tedious steps, and removes the friction of handoffs. Beneath the surface, Dex is more than a browser agent — it’s a foundation for: ● Long-term, cross-modal memory grounded in real workflows ● A new interaction layer to replace static UI with a collaborative canvas ● Personalization: understanding how individuals approach tasks and navigate software We're building the infrastructure for adaptive, intent-aware systems that work the way you do.
Dex is an AI-powered workspace that maintains a full operational memory across your workspace, ingesting and structuring data to drive automated, context-aware actions inside the browser. It acts as a self-driving assistant that orchestrates across Gmail, Slack, CRM and 20+ tools, using agents and browser control to execute workflows and keep knowledge up to date.
Dex creates an operational graph and a knowledge manual that together form a living source of truth. It ingests all workspace datapoints (messages, meetings, deals, workflow events), organizes them into entities and relationships, and updates priorities, SOPs, and operating principles automatically. It deploys autonomous agents to orchestrate across apps (Gmail, Slack, CRM, 20+ tools) and can control the browser to navigate tabs, fill forms, and complete tasks. Users can bring their context via an SDK and MCP to apply Dex’s capabilities across their favorite apps. Features include meeting prep with full context, automated follow-ups, CRM updates without data entry, weekly skill-generation automation, and proactive, self-improving behavior with 24/7 Dreamer Agents.
Who it’s for: Operators and teams at mid-market to growth-stage companies who run multiple deals and use multiple tools, including those in B2B SaaS, finance, and enterprise settings, who need a centralized, browser-first AI agent for work automation and knowledge management.
