Aide is an AI-native , privacy-first IDE built on top of VSCode
We're building Aide, an AI-native IDE designed for engineers to enjoy problem-solving with agents by their side. We're currently a team of two, based in London, United Kingdom. Between us, we have been tech leads with experience building testing infrastructure at Meta, payment systems for 150k merchants in India, been an ACM ICPC world finalist and Open-Source contributor to critical infrastructure including gRPC and the Bazel build system. We love dev tooling, and enjoy thinking about the future of programming.
CodeStory describes Aide as an AI-native, privacy-first IDE built on top of VSCode, focusing on AI agents for software engineering and scaling at inference time. It positions Aide as a developer tools lab exploring inference-time scaling and agentic systems to reshape writing, debugging, and maintenance of software.
Aide provides AI agents integrated into a developer tools environment to assist with writing, debugging, and maintaining software. It emphasizes inference-time scaling and agentic systems within an IDE context built atop VSCode, aiming to enhance software engineering workflows through AI-driven capabilities.
Who it’s for: Developers and engineering teams seeking AI-assisted development, debugging, and maintenance within a privacy-first IDE environment.
Currently building CodeStory. I have worked extensively in the devtooling and AI space for the last 5 years as the tech-lead for testing infrastructure at Meta and as the founding engineer for Findly.ai (YC S22). Passionate about making developers more productive and want to build for a world where developers have powerful AI agents working together to ship more value. I love making computers do things. 👾
Currently building CodeStory, an AI-native IDE designed for engineers to enjoy problem-solving with agents by their side. I've built payments infrastructure to handle 150k merchants and scaled an engineering team from 5 to 35.
CodeStory is a full-blown AI-powered IDE built to tackle any complex task, so you can accomplish your goals faster.
CodeStory launches an AI-first IDE (as a VSCode extension) that integrates with AI assistants, enabling engineers to collaborate with AI agents across the codebase using language-server features, terminal access, and a code graph. It targets developers building complex tasks and aims to improve how AI helps complete and debug code.
