Units

Units is a new school that offers Ontario high school credits through self-paced, AI-assisted lessons and portfolio-based projects. It emphasizes real-world artifacts, AI coaching, and a pathway to college prep and portfolio-ready outcomes for ambitious students.

Students progress through interactive lessons guided by an AI coach, with adaptive difficulty and concept explanations tailored to how they think. Each Unit ends with a real-world artifact (video, article, shipped product, etc.) published to a public medium and graded through a three-layer assessment: Create → Defend → Critique. The platform offers multiple paths (SF Flagship, College prep, Builders, Homeschool, Credit recovery) and gathers real credits (OSSD, etc.) while providing a portfolio of published work as evidence of learning. Lessons are designed to be completed faster (2 hours per unit) and focus on real-world artifacts rather than traditional essays, with teacher support and AI orchestration for advanced tasks like AI tool usage and prompt engineering.
