Unlocking carbon markets for European forest owners
Pina Earth is building a suite of digital tools for data collection, monitoring, and certification of forest carbon projects. EU forests are at high risk due to climate change. With Pina Earth, forest owners can start high-quality carbon projects on their properties and use the new income stream to prepare their forests for a changing climate. Pina Earth and Tree.ly recently joined forces to create Europe's leading forest carbon platform: https://tech.eu/2025/07/29/pina-earth-and-treely-merge-to-create-europes-largest-forest-carbon-platform/
Pina Earth provides high-quality carbon credits sourced from local European forests to support climate protection and forest management. It uses digital twin technology and climate-based simulations to quantify and transparently track forest climate performance for businesses and forest owners.
Creates a digital twin of each forest from current inventory, enabling precise climate impact quantification. Uses a climate-based simulation engine with forest growth models and custom modules, producing verifiable climate impact calculations. Delivers digital dashboards for project progress, supports forest owners in management, and offers carbon credits or financial opportunities for forests. Customers can purchase credits or generate income through participation in forest projects.
Who it’s for: Businesses seeking European forest-based carbon credits and forest owners looking to finance and manage their forests for climate resilience.

I have a background in environmental studies (PhD @LMU, M.Sc., @TU Munich) and business (C-level consulting at Kearney, Audi). Before founding Pina Earth, I co-led the Center for Digital Technology and Management (CDTM) in Munich for the four years of my doctoral research. At CDTM, I taught entrepreneurship and was responsible for partnerships (with e.g. Siemens AI, Adidas) as well as recruiting. CDTM is also where I met my co-founder, Florian.
My main study background is in HCI (M.Sc. @ LMU in Munich, Germany). I specialized in affective computing & decision-support systems for expert users. Additionally, I attended an add-on study program in Technology Management @ the Center for Digital Technology and Management (CDTM) where I also met my co-founders. Since the beginning of my studies, I was working as a full-stack web and app developer at various early-stage start-ups including Alasco, ORDA, and ShoeSizeMe.
